Festival by the Sea - Quilt Show in Parksville, BC

There were many wonderful quilts at this years Festival by the Sea Quilt Show held this year in Parksville.

This is a picture of the little one block wonder I entered. It was my first time entering a quilt show. It was a great experience and an opportunity I'm glad not to have missed. My little "Yes, I Can" quilt received an honourable mention and there were some other nice commentaries and ribbons received by other friends whom I quilt with who put in their quilts as well. It was such a great show, and excellent to see some of the people I know who worked so hard receive some of the first place ribbons. Congratulations to all who participated and collectively put together this wonderful show... I felt that all the quilts entered contributed to the overall success of the show. Well done! :)

Little Kitten Block - Sneak Peak

The Little Kitten Block for May ~ is currently being done to send off to my May Block Swap Adventure Partner. It was a fun block to research and put together sew carefully! I look forward to shipping the finished Little Kitten Block and sending it off to it's new home... watch in about a week or so for the blog post to view the finished Kitten. LOL Debra

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

The first of the season Strawberry Rhubarb Pie's were a sure hit at the spring 2012 Nanoose Studio Tour. The Pies were sold out on the first day with orders for more in the afternnoon and next day... I actually couldn't get to my table with the pies on the second day in attendence before selling out! Thank you to everyone for your support.

The Farmer's Wife Studio will be selling seasonal pies as the crops are ready, so it will be great fun to share with everyone our wonderful bounty... have fun in your gardens! Deb

Note: The next Farmer's Wife pies will soon be available at the first ever Lantzville Farmer's Market on May 27th. We look forward to having Strawberry Rhubarb and Blackberry (which were organically grown here at the farm site and hand picked and frozen last fall). We hope to see you there!

Thank you Shannon ~ The April Block is Lovely!

Block Swap Adventure Block for April 2012 ~ This is a wonderfully executed celtic block received from Shannon in Ohio. It was my first block to be received as part of the Block Swap Adventure on-line and I'm so delighted! The fresh colours and delightful 30's fabric are a perfect choice. I look forward to being a continued partner in the group and hope you enjoyed receiving your Wonky Star Shannon. Thank you, as you might have noted I've placed this block beside some of the items I brought home with me from my visit to Ireland ~ home of my great grandparents. Debra
